UK and CA Domain Names Have Just Been Made Available

UK AND CA DOMAIN NAMES HAVE JUST BEEN MADE AVAILABLE

We are proud to present to you, as from today, the newest edition to the domain names available for registration through the Web Hosting Control Panel – the .uk and .ca country TLDs. We are well aware of the high demand for such domain name TLDs and we know you will be existed when you read this news.
Let us now go through the basic requirements for such domain name registrations:

.UK (.CO.UK and .ORG.UK) Domain Names
Obviously the .UK stands for the country United Kingdom. .co.uk and .org.uk domain name registrations and transfer are available. Registration of such a SLD (second level domain) differs to the registration of your usual TLDs such as .com, .net .org etc.
Registration timeframe – registrations can only be made for 2 years. That is the minimum and maximum registration period.
Renewal options – renewing a .uk domain name is possible only if the domain name has 6 months (or less) to its expiration date. Again the renewal period can be no other than 2 year one.
WHOIS management: WHOIS info cannot be altered directly from our Web Hosting Control Panel. Instead Nominet (the .uk registry) must be contacted directly from the owner of the domain name.

.CA Domain Names

The Canadian registrar CIRA does have some peculiarities when registering a .ca domain name as well as for changing WHOIS information.
Registrant requirements: .CA domain names can only be registered from Canadian citizens, individuals with permanent residency in Canada and companies registered in Canada. Since this is a key condition for the registration additional fields will be provided and are compulsory for the registration. The new fields will allow you to specify the type of the registrant basically.
WHOIS management: Limited WHOIS changes are available such as registrant’s address phone number etc. However a registrants name cannot be changed under any circumstances. Changes to the whois can be done only manually by opening up a Trouble ticket from the Help Center menu inside the Web Hosting Control Panel.

.UK domain names can be transferred away and towards us by simply changing the IPS Tag for the domain name. Our IPS tag is “ENOM” (without the quotes) in case you are interested in transferring an existing .uk domain name to us.
.CA domain names can also be transferred away and towards us in the usual procedure. It is actually even easier since no EPP (authorization key) is required for this TLD.

What should you expect after these TLDs?
Next on our TLD list are the .de (Germany) and .eu (European Union) domain name. We hope our team will be able to implement those in the mid-end of November.
