Htaccess Code Generator has been Included in the Web Hosting Control Panel

We are proud to announce yet another new tool available to our clients – the .htaccess Generator. Its main purpose is to give you access to the many options and possibilities available in the .htaccess file.

Where is the .htaccess Generator located?

It is just under the Web Tools menu in a section called Elefante Administration Tools. This new section also consists of the HotLink Protection and Ip Blocking tools. Both tools are nothing new, we have just moved them from the Elefante Marketing Tools for better organization of the numerous tools we offer. You can also access the .htaccess generator from the .htaccess button available in your File Manager section of our Web Hosting Control Panel.

This Generator is made for your convenience since up to now a .htaccess file had to be created manually with knowledge of its contents and key permissions, which if not set correctly led to serious errors occurring on your web structure and display. The Generator guarantees flawless .htaccess creation, so you will never have to contact the technicians and wait for their response time (even if it is minimum) This does not mean that will won’t help you if you have any problems with the .htaccess files whatsoever. Quite the contrary! Our staff will be glad if they can assist you in any way!

What features have been made available in the .htaccess Generator?
The features have been grouped in the following six sections depending on their purpose:
- default index page
- additional MIME types
- authentication – allows IP and password authentication
- mod_rewrite – allows host authentication, wrong URLs redirection to another web server, language-based redirection and blocking sites by referrer
- custom error documents – allows the setting up of custom Error 400, 401, 403, 404 and 500 pages, as well as document redirection to a new URL
- other options – allows the enabling of Server Side Includes (SSI), hotlinking protection and PHP inclusion in HTML files

How can you apply the generated .htaccess code?

As soon as you fill in all the fields necessary for the .htaccess file to be operational and you submit the form, the .htaccess code will be generated according to your selection. You will be able to chose if you want a brand new .htaccess file created or you would like the newly created code implemented into an existing file.
