Domain Manager Update

Once again we are proud to present our newest update to the Web Hosting Control panel which will contribute in the complete handling of our customers’ web hosting accounts. This time the update is regarding the Domain Manager, moreover the domain status fields and the way they are displayed. This particular section will not include regularly updated information regarding the status of every single domain in any given hosting account. Furthermore there are some new augmented options to enhance the control over the clients’ domains.

Four are the new statuses regarding the domain names registered through the account which will be respectively shown upon a domain reaching the according status. Every status has a corresponding icon that will be shown under Status section in the Domain Manager. All status icons will have a opening tooltip with vital information explaining what does this particular status mean. According the status of the domain name the expiration/renewal link will open up a corresponding option menu for further actions available.

Domain statuses overview:

Redemption period – When a domain name expires there is a certain period (usually 30 days) during which you can renew the domain name at the normal price. After that follows the so called Redemption period when you can renew the domain name at a higher price due the taxes applied for holding your domain. Below follows the official information regarding the RGP period according ICANN. In a case of a domain name in Redemption Period an automating renewal option will be available. The so called redemption tax sum will be added to the normal renewal price. This can be done through the Expiration/Renewal link besides the domain name in question.

Extended redemption period – this is a extension to the Redemption period which can take place from 7 to 30 days prior to the domain name being deleted from the registry’s database afterwards the domain name will be available for registration once again. In this Extended Redemption Period the domain name can once again be renewed, however not with the automated renewal process. If a domain name is in the aforementioned status the client should contact the support team via the “Open Support Ticket” link that will appear after clicking the Expiration/Renewal link for the corresponding domain name.

Pending delete period – If a domain name enters this status this basically means that the domain name cannot be altered or renewed in any way. This is due to the fact that within the next 10 days the domain name will be released by the current registrar and be available for registration once again.

Released from registry – When a domain name is released from the registry this basically means that the domain name is once again available for registration. If this status is present from the Expiration/Renewal link corresponding to the domain name will open up an option to re-register the domain name with the original WHOIS information that was used when the domain name was registered originally. If for some reason the domain name has been registered at another registrar the option for a new domain registration will appear.
