Exclusive Hosting Software Development Department is proud to present to you the new File Manager. As of today all servers have been installed the new File manager at it is available for all clients. ! This new version will completely change the existing File manager and will facilitate many innovative functions.

The following features and upgrades are available:

Create New File/Folder – This is the utility to create new files and folders. It is made simple and functional with self explanatory buttons for the corresponding type.

Disk Usage – The new thing here is that you will not get a graphical AND numerical disk usage statistics for how much you have used and how much you have left for usage.

Quick Links Path – Rather than the old File manager and its static display of history path name with the list of the files here you will have a dynamic Quick Links Path Name” that will provide you with time saving access to each sub-level of the current folder. The so called menu will basically show you the name of the current folder you are in, with the ability to browse through the folder in the File Listing table below in forms of dynamic path name links.

Quick Host Shortcuts - This is also to greatly improve the browseability with the help of a drop down menu for instant access throughout folders as well as domain names and subdomain names on your vhost (virtual host);

File Listing Panel:
Check boxes – This is so you can select numerous files altogether for such actions as copying deleting, moving etc.
Type Icons – The type icon will show you the file or folder type so you should know if it is for example a text file, an image file, an archive or a folder.
File/Folder names – We completely innovated here with a new way of managing your files and folders. You will now be able to use very informative and intuitive tooltips with available actions.

File tooltip - When you left mouse click on the name of a file it will pull up a small panel with corresponding actions for the different file types. It will also provide you with detailed information about the name, size and type of the selected file. The permissions cascade menu will allow you to change the permission of a given file. The other options in this menu are pretty much self explanatory Copy, Delete, Edit, Open in Web, View Image, Open WYSIWYG Editor and so on and so forth.
Folder Tooltip – This is the same as the File Tooltip menu, it will give you detailed information about the selected folder with an option to copy, delete, edit or download the folder in a ZIP archive. It will again provide you the ability to change the permission only this time you will be changing the permission for your whole folder. *Please Note that, if you click on the name of the folder it will open up the content of the folder rather than show you the type of the file.

Actions icons – Next every file or folder name are shown all action icons corresponding to specific feature they represent. Each button will display a brief explanation tooltip.
File Size – This feature will basically show you the size of each file.
Permissions – This shows the current permission set for each folder or file.
Last Accessed/Last Changed dropdown menu – This is a drop down menu giving you access to switch from “Last Accessed” to “Last Changed” and it will show you the exact date/time of the last accessed file/folder or respectively the time for last changes made to the file/folder.
Last Accessed

Actions Toolbar – Probably the most important thing in the File manager, this toolbar will show you the available options for multiple selected files. In other words you can Move, Reload, Copy, or change permissions to multiple files and folders. You have a Select All button for your convenience that will select every file or folder in the current folder. The Reload option will simply refresh the File manager rather than the whole page from the browsers’ Refresh option which sometimes is time-consuming.

File Upload Field – This field will allow you to upload as many files at once as you wish. The only restriction is that the sum of the size of all files uploaded cannot exceed 20MB. The Upload Field is intelligent is a way that a new upload box will appear if you fill in the first one. The Upload field supports the following archive files .zip, .rar, .tar.gz and gz. Such archive files will be automatically unarchieved in the current folder they are being uploaded. All you have to do to unarchive the file is tick the box stating “Unpack archive after upload” that will be shown once you select an archive file for upload.
